Job summary

Warby Parker seeks an Optometric Technician to work closely with our optometrists in our New York stores. You’ll perform pre-testing, assist with eye exams, and help train staff to deliver outstanding patient experiences.

You’ll manage high patient volumes, collect essential data, maintain accurate records, and ensure smooth operations while adhering to HIPAA and privacy standards. A patient-focused, tech-savvy team player fits well here.

Qualifications

• Experience in a medical environment preferred.
• Comfort with patient interaction and data entry.
• Respect for privacy and HIPAA policies.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between doctor and patient, building rapport.
• Perform preliminary clinical data collection (autorefraction, visual acuity, eye pressure, pupil testing, ocular motility, retinal imaging, lensometry).
• Support in person and video assisted eye exams when available.
• Train new staff on insertion/removal training for contact lenses.
• Assist with appointment confirmations and follow-ups to ensure a seamless experience.
• Manage patient flow through the eye exam process.
• Maintain accurate records of data collected for providers.
• Assist with preparation of reports for medical professionals as needed.
• Adhere to HIPAA/privacy policies and company procedures.
• Maintain organized exam room, replenish supplies, and calibrate equipment as needed.
• Support the retail team as directed by Store Leader.
