Job summary

Warby Parker is seeking an Optometric Technician to work with our optometrists in a high-volume store setting. You will perform pre-testing, assist with eye exams, and train staff on contact lens insertion/removal while ensuring patient flow and accurate data handling.

The role emphasizes compassionate patient care, teamwork, and the ability to learn new medical applications in a retail environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a medical environment preferred.
• Strong customer service and patient care
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between doctor and patient to build rapport.
• Perform preliminary clinical data collection (autorefraction, visual acuity, eye pressure, pupil testing, ocular motility, retinal imaging, lensometry).
• Support in-person and video-assisted eye exams when available.
• Train new contact lens insertion/removal and train team members.
• Assist with appointment flow, confirmations, and follow-ups to ensure smooth visits.
• Maintain accurate data records and prepare reports for medical professionals.
• Ensure HIPAA/PIPEDA compliance and privacy policies.
• Prepare and maintain organized exam rooms with supplies and equipment.
