Job summary

MyEyeDr in Maryland is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry with preliminary testing and measurements. Training will be provided to learn the equipment and procedures, helping deliver a best-in-class patient experience. Some weekend and evening shifts are required.

You will conduct visual screenings using pretest equipment, assist with patient prep, train on contact lens procedures, and collaborate with the doctor and team to ensure a smooth, comfortable visit.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Strong communication with patients during screening.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, accurately document existing conditions and complaints, and chart medical history to prep for Optometrist exam
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and additional office staff throughout appointment
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures to which they will be exposed during appointment
• Through company training learn to use all pretest equipment to perform a range of visual screenings for patients prior to visiting with the doctor
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team members to provide seamless patient experience
