Job summary

Warby Parker is seeking an Optometric Technician to work with our optometrists in stores, delivering a stellar eye exam experience. You will help manage high patient volume, perform pre-testing, and support new contact lens insertion and removal training.

You will collect data, assist with in-person or video eye exams, maintain records, and help prepare reports while upholding HIPAA and privacy policies. A patient-centered, tech-savvy team player will thrive in our fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in a medical environment supporting doctors.
• Familiarity with eye exam workflows and data collection.
• CPOT certification or Optometric Technician training is preferred.
• Comfort with HIPAA/privacy policies.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between doctor and patient, building rapport.
• Collect preliminary clinical data during exams (autorefraction, visual acuity, eye pressure, etc.).
• Assist with in-person and video-assisted eye exams.
• Provide insertion/removal training for new contact lens wearers.
• Support booking, annual exam outreach, and follow-up to ensure a seamless appointment.
• Maintain patient flow and accurate data records.
• Assist in preparing reports for medical staff as needed.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA/privacy policies and company procedures.
• Maintain organized exam room and replenish supplies.
• Support the retail team as directed by the Store Leader.
