Job summary

Warby Parker is hiring an Optometric Technician to work closely with our optometrists in store eye exams. You will manage a high patient volume, perform pre-testing, assist with contact lens training, and support video-assisted exams where available.

You’ll ensure accurate data, maintain records, and help with reports while upholding HIPAA standards. The role blends clinical support with customer service in a fast-paced retail setting, offering benefits for full-time and part-time team members

Qualifications

• Experience in a medical environment preferred.
• Training in optometry or CPOT certification required or preferred.
• Strong communication and patient service skills.
• Comfort with clinical data collection and HIPAA privacy.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between doctor and patient and build rapport.
• Perform preliminary clinical data collection and testing.
• Support in-person and video-assisted eye exams when available.
• Deliver insertion/removal training to new contact lens wearers and train others as needed.
• Guide patients through booking, confirmations, and follow-ups for exams and lenses.
• Maintain patient flow and accurate records of collected data.
• Prepare reports for medical professionals as required.
• Keep exam rooms organized, stocked, and clean; calibrate equipment.
• Support the retail team as directed by Store Leader.
