Job summary

Warby Parker is seeking an Optometric Technician to work with our optometrists and provide patients with a stellar eye care experience in our stores. You'll perform pre-testing, assist with eye exams, train on contact lens insertion and removal, and help keep the exam process smooth while ensuring accurate record-keeping and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Compassionate patient care and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a busy setting.
• Experience with eye care or medical environments is a plus.
• Completion of CPOT or optometric technician training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary liaison between doctor and patient, establishing rapport with eye exam patients.
• Perform preliminary clinical data collection (autorefraction, visual acuity, eye pressure, pupil testing, etc.).
• Support in-person and video-assisted eye exam appointments.
• Provide training on contact lens insertion and removal to wearers and staff.
• Assist with appointment booking and follow-up to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Maintain accurate records of collected data and support report preparation for medical professionals.
• Ensure HIPAA/PIPEDA compliance and company policy adherence.
• Maintain organized exam rooms and replenish supplies; calibrate equipment as needed.
• Support the retail team as directed by the Store Leader.
