Job summary

Warby Parker is seeking an Optometric Technician to support our in-store optometrists in a fast-paced retail setting. You’ll assist with pre-testing, collect clinical data, support video-assisted eye exams, and help manage patient flow to ensure a stellar appointment experience.

You will train teammates on insertion and removal training for contact lenses, maintain meticulous records, prepare reports for medical professionals, and ensure HIPAA/PIPEDA compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in a medical environment preferred and supportive of doctors.
• Completion of an Optometric Technician training program or CPOT certification.
• Familiar with HIPAA/PIPEDA and patient privacy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between doctor and patient to establish rapport.
• Perform preliminary clinical data collection (autorefraction, visual acuity, eye pressure, etc.).
• Support in-person and video-assisted eye exam appointments.
• Deliver insertion/removal training for contact lenses and train teammates as directed.
• Assist with booking, confirmation, and outreach to maintain smooth appointments.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for medical professionals.
