Job summary

Warby Parker is seeking an Optometric Technician to collaborate with optometrists in a fast-paced retail setting. You will manage a high volume of patients, perform pre-testing, and assist with training for contact lens insertion and removal while ensuring a smooth patient experience.

In this role you will collect clinical data, support video-assisted exams where applicable, and help maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• Requires 1+ years in a medical environment supporting doctors.
• Completion of an Optometric Technician training program or CPOT certification (Certified Paraoptometric Technician) preferred.
• Strong ability to learn and use medical software and devices.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between doctor and patient, establishing rapport with eye exam patients.
• Perform preliminary clinical data collection (autorefraction, visual acuity, eye pressure, pupil testing, ocular motility, retinal imaging, lensometry).
• Support in-person and video assisted eye exam appointments.
• Provide insertion/removal training for new contact lens wearers and train team members as directed.
• Assist with booking flow, appointment confirmations, and outreach to ensure seamless patient experiences.
• Manage patient flow through the eye exam process.
• Maintain accurate data records and assist in preparing reports for medical professionals.
• Ensure HIPAA/privacy compliance and follow company procedures.
• Prepare and maintain organized exam rooms, replenish supplies, and calibrate equipment.
• Support the retail sales team as directed by the Store Leader.
