Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to support ophthalmology teams in delivering exceptional patient care. You will perform pre-testing, assist with diagnostic procedures, and help manage scheduling to ensure a smooth patient experience from check-in to check-out.

You will document findings in EHR, coordinate with Optometrists, and help educate patients on procedures and post-visit care, contributing to high-quality outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Experience maintaining patients’ records in compliance with HIPAA.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist.
• Conduct pre-testing and assist with specialty diagnostic testing.
• Manage the doctor’s appointment schedule for efficient patient flow.
• Record and maintain patient records in EHR with HIPAA compliance.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medication and treatment.
• Assist with end-of-day tasks and office organization.
