Job summary

AEG in Massachusetts is seeking an Optometric Technician to support doctors and deliver exceptional patient care. You will perform pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and help manage appointment flow to ensure efficiency.

You’ll handle medical record documentation in EHR, coordinate referrals, and maintain a clean, organized work area. Strong exam experience, HIPAA awareness, and teamwork are valued as we build a patient‑focused practice.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams.
• Familiarity with eye treatment medical terms.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).
• High School or GED qualification.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations prior to exam (dilation, topicals, diagnostic meds).
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage doctor's appointment schedule for efficient patient flow.
• Document findings in EHR and maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Schedule referrals and complete related paperwork.
• End-of-day wrap-up and maintain clean work area.
