Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to support doctors in delivering exceptional patient care. You will perform pre-exam evaluations, assist with specialty testing, and help manage the patient journey from check-in to discharge.

You will maintain accurate records, coordinate referrals, and support clerical tasks while ensuring HIPAA compliance and a positive patient experience in a fast-paced optometry practice.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with patients.
• Experience with HIPAA regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing (e.g., OCT, Visual Field).
• Schedule referral appointments and manage paperwork.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and policies.
• Manage the doctor’s appointment calendar for efficient scheduling.
• Conduct contact lens instruction and manage inventory.
