Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to support doctors and improve patient care. You will conduct pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and help manage the doctor’s schedule to ensure a smooth, high‑quality patient experience.

You will handle medical documentation, patient inquiries, and light clerical duties, working closely with Optometrists and staff in a fast‑paced practice. Prior eye care experience and HIPAA familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• Strong attention to the details and ability to work under pressure in fast paced environment.
• PC skills including MS Office, Windows, and word processing.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with coworkers and patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist and support testing.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage the doctor’s appointment schedule to ensure efficient, high-quality patient experiences.
• Record and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and policies.
• Support contact lens procedures, inventory, and end-of-day wrap-up.
