Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to support optometrists with pre-testing, scheduling, and patient education. You will help ensure efficient, high-quality patient experiences from check-in to post-exam tasks.

Responsibilities include performing preliminary tests, maintaining records, and assisting with diagnostic procedures while upholding HIPAA standards and teamwork with clinicians and staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with PC software including MS Office and general Windows tools.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate clearly.
• Excellent verbal and written communication to effectively interact with coworkers and patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-testing procedures and assist with specialty diagnostic testing.
• Support the doctor’s appointment schedule to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Record and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications, treatments, and visits.
• May perform basic diagnostic tests and assist with post-exam tasks.
• Maintain clean and organized work area and equipment.
