Job summary

EssilorLuxottica is seeking an Optometric Technician to support eye exams and patient flow. You will assist with testing, record management, and coordination with the Optometrist to ensure a smooth patient experience.

The role requires 2+ years in optometry or healthcare, strong communication, and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced setting. Weekend/evening availability and adherence to HIPAA are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience in optometry, ophthalmology or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of optical and medical terminology.
• Understanding and utilization of optical equipment and diagnostic testing.
• Coaching skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to address priorities and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care and eye exams, manage patient records and flow.
• Performs tests to aid optometrist with vision examinations (acuity, color/depth perception, retinal imaging).
• Review prescriptions and patient data; coordinate with Optometrist or Manager as needed.
• Handle and file patient records per HIPAA and standards.
• Support contact lens exams, orders, and inventory.
• Operate appointment system and POS, process sales with accuracy.
• Maintain safety and assist in exam lanes and contact lens areas.
• Explain measurements to patients and answer questions during pre-exam testing.
• Maintain and disinfect equipment; provide clinical support as needed.
• Work weekends/evenings as required; adhere to attendance policies.
