Job summary

EssilorLuxottica is seeking an Optometric Technician to support eye exams, patient flow, and test administration. You will help the Optometrist with pre-exam testing, record keeping, and laser-free evaluations while ensuring HIPAA compliance and a smooth patient experience.

The role requires strong communication, accuracy, and a patient-focused approach in a fast-paced environment, with potential weekend/evening shifts at a Los Angeles area location.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience in optometry, ophthalmology or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of optical and medical terminology.
• Understanding and utilization of optical equipment and diagnostic testing (pre-exam testing, visual acuity).
• Coaching skills and strong communication abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care and eye exams, manage records, support patient flow.
• Perform tests to aid optometrist with vision exams and accurate diagnosis.
• Review prescriptions and patient info; coordinate with team as needed.
• Handle and file patient records per HIPAA and standards.
• Support contact lens exams, orders, and inventory.
• Operate scheduling and POS systems; process sales transactions.
