Job summary

Luxottica in Chicago seeks an Optometric Technician to ensure high-quality eye care and a seamless link between doctor and patient care. You will assist during exams, run testing, manage records, and support lens orders while upholding HIPAA and safety standards.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years in optometry/healthcare, strong math and communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment. Weekend/evening availability may be required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• 2+ years' experience in optometry, ophthalmology or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of optical and medical terminology.
• Understanding of optical equipment and diagnostic testing (pre-exam testing, pretesting, visual acuity, etc).
• Coaching skills and strong communication.
• Ability to work autonomously in fast-paced environment.
• Strong basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care and eye exams and manage patient records.
• Perform tests to aid the optometrist, including visual acuity measurements and retinal imaging.
• Support patient flow and pre-exam testing.
• Operate the PO S system and process sales transactions when needed.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant records and dress code.
• Work weekends and evenings as needed.
