Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience in optometry, ophthalmology or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of optical and medical terminology.
• Understanding and utilization of optical equipment and diagnostic testing.
• Coaching skills and strong communication.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care and eye exams, managing patient records and flow.
• Performs tests to aid the optometrist with vision examinations.
• Reviews prescriptions and patient information; collaborates with staff.
• Maintains patient records following HIPAA and practice standards.
• Supports contact lens exams, orders, and inventory management.
• Operates the POS system and handles transactions per procedures.
• Maintains a safe, clean working environment; adheres to all policies.
