Job summary

Warby Parker is seeking an Optometric Technician to work closely with optometrists in our Madison stores. You will help manage high patient volumes, perform pre-testing, and assist with contact lens insertion/removal training while supporting privacy and compliance requirements.

You will also help maintain exam room readiness, support appointment flow, and contribute to reports for medical professionals. A tech-friendly, compassionate team player with 1+ years in a medical setting is ideal.

Qualifications

• Experience in a medical environment supporting doctors is a plus.
• Completion of an Optometric Technician training program or CPOT certification.
• Comfort with eyewear products and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between doctor and patient, establishing rapport with eye exam patients.
• Perform preliminary clinical data collection (autorefraction, visual acuity, eye pressure, pupil testing, ocular motility, retinal imaging).
• Support in person and video assisted eye exam appointments.
• Provide insertion/removal training for new contact lens wearers and train team members if needed.
• Assist with appointment flow, confirmations, and follow-up to ensure a seamless experience.
• Maintain accurate records of collected data and prepare reports as needed.
• Ensure HIPAA/PIPEDA compliance and store procedures.
• Prepare and maintain a clean, well-stocked exam room and manage equipment maintenance.
• Support the retail team as directed by Store Leader.
