Job summary

Warby Parker is seeking an Optometric Technician to work closely with our optometrists in a busy retail setting. You will assist with pre-testing, data collection, and training new staff on contact lens insertion/removal while ensuring a seamless patient experience.

You’ll help manage high patient volumes and support the store team throughout the appointment process. The role requires comfort with medical technology, meticulous record-keeping, and a patient-first approach.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting optometrists and handling high-volume eye exams.
• Ability to perform pre-testing such as autorefraction, visual acuity, and eye pressure.
• Experience with contact lens insertion/removal training and data collection.
• Familiarity with HIPAA privacy policies and store procedures.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between doctor and patient to build rapport.
• Conduct preliminary clinical data collection (autorefraction, visual acuity, etc.).
• Support in-person and video-assisted eye exams.
• Train staff on contact lens insertion/removal.
• Assist with appointment booking and follow-up to ensure seamless visits.
• Manage patient flow through the eye exam process.
• Maintain accurate records of collected data.
• Prepare reports for other medical professionals.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA/PIPEDA and company policies.
• Maintain organized exam rooms and replenish supplies.
