Zusammenfassung

VisionWorks is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant (Part Time) to help deliver a great patient experience by preparing patients for examinations, performing pre‑exam tests, and guiding them through the process with optometrists. The role supports both onsite and remote exams and requires documentation in EMR and insurance preauthorization.

One year of related experience and an optical/healthcare background are preferred; HS diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifikationen

• One (1) year of related experience
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred
• Medical office/business professionalism required

Aufgaben

• Prepare patients for onsite and remote examinations
• Assist onsite doctor with eye examinations and document results in EMR
• Explain pre-testing steps to patients and administer preliminary tests
• Support remote eye exams including pre-testing and video conferencing
• Transition patients to retail associates with recommendations
• Understand MVC plans and articulate benefits to patients
• Preauthorize insurance per SOPs
• Schedule appointments and manage exam books
• Maintain patient records and ensure smooth patient flow
• Instruct patients on contact lens care and orders
• Maintain clean clinical environment and equipment
• Participate in required clinical certification and flexible travel
