Job summary

Visionworks of America, Inc. is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to prepare patients for exams, perform pre-testing, and explain procedures.

You will liaise between patients and Optometrists and assist with remote and onsite visits, helping to ensure a smooth patient journey. Responsibilities include data entry into EMR, insurance coordination, and guiding patients through the eye-care process, including contact lens handling and post-exam handoffs.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred
• Medical office professionalism required
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect medical history for EMR
• Assist onsite doctor and document exam results in EMR
• Explain pre-testing steps and perform tests
• Support remote exams with testing and video conferencing
• Transition patient care to retail staff with doctor recommendations
• Instruct on contact lens care and orders
• Maintain accurate patient records and comply with HIPAA
