VisionWorks is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to help ensure a great patient experience by preparing patients for exams, performing pre-exam tests and explaining steps of the process. The role acts as a liaison between patients and Optometrists, supporting both onsite and remote examinations.

The position requires one year of related experience, healthcare/optical background preferred, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.

Qualifikationen

• One year of related experience.
• Optical or healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office professionalism required.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.
• Training provided.

Aufgaben

• Assist with patient registration and gather medical history.
• Support onsite eye exams and document results in EMR.
• Explain pre-testing process to patients.
• Assist remote eye exams and telemedicine steps.
• Transition patient to retail associate after exam.
• Explain MVC plan benefits to patients.
• Preauthorize insurance per SOP.
• Coordinate scheduling and manage exam books with staff.
• Maintain patient flow for doctor effectiveness.
• Instruct patients on contact lens care and orders.
• Maintain clean clinical environment and equipment.
