Job summary

VisionWorks is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to ensure a great patient experience by preparing patients for onsite and remote examinations. You will perform pre-exam tests, document results in EMR, and explain each step of the process to patients.

In this role you will liaise between patients and optometrists, assist with insurance preauthorization, and coordinate with retail staff to schedule future exams and convey doctor recommendations.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience in optical/healthcare settings.
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient registration and gather relevant information including Medical History and Ocular Health data in EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with patient care and explain preliminary tests to patients, documenting results in EMR.
• For remote appointments, assist patients through the remote eye exam process and document results in EMR.
