Job summary

VisionWorks is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to prepare patients for onsite or remote examinations, perform pre-exam testing, and explain each step of the process. You will act as a liaison between patients and Optometrists and assist in the initial steps of the patient journey.

Under this role you will help with registration, documentation in EMR, insurance preauthorization, scheduling, and maintaining patient records while supporting both in-store and remote exam

Qualifications

• One year of related experience
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred
• Medical office/business professionalism required
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience
• Training provided

Responsibilities

• Assist onsite doctor with patient care and eye examinations.
• Explain preliminary testing process to patients and document results in EMR.
• Support remote eye exams including pre-testing and testing documentation in EMR.
• Preauthorize insurance in accordance with SOPs.
• Schedule appointments and manage exam books; contact no-shows and cancellations.
• Maintain patient records according to Company standards.
