Job summary

VisionWorks in Cortland, NY is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to help ensure a great patient experience by preparing for on-site and remote examinations, performing pre-exam tests, and explaining each step of the process.

You will liaise between patients and Optometrists, assist with eye care procedures, and guide patients through the early stages of their visit, including insurance preauthorisation and exam scheduling as needed. Training provided.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience.
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office professionalism required.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.
• Training provided.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient registration and submit information into EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with eye examinations and document preliminary test results.
• For remote appointments, assist patients through remote eye exams including pre-testing and video conferencing.
• Coordinate with retail staff to schedule exams and manage exam books.
• Maintain patient records and ensure clean clinical environment.
• Instruct patients on contact lens care and handling.
