Job summary

Visionworks of America is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to help ensure a great patient experience by preparing patients for onsite or remote exams and performing pre-exam diagnostic tests. You will serve as a liaison between patients and Optometrists, guiding them through the initial steps of the journey.

The role is full-time in New York (Town of Cicero) with hourly pay ranging from $17 to $25.50, and training provided.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience in optical, healthcare, or medical office settings.
• Excellent customer service and patient interaction skills.
• Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
• Ability to explain pre-exam steps and testing clearly to patients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and remote/onsite testing; complete pre-exam diagnostics and document results in EMR.
• Assist onsite optometrist with exams and relay testing results to patients and staff.
• Support remote appointments, including remote testing, video conferencing setup, and documentation.
