Job summary

VisionWorks in New York is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to prepare patients for onsite and remote examinations, run pre-exam tests, and explain each step of the process. You will act as a liaison between patients and Optometrists and help initiate the patient journey.

The role requires at least one year of related experience, a HS diploma or GED, and strong patient service skills. Training is provided, and travel to other locations may be required.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience in optical or healthcare settings.
• Medical office professionalism required.
• HS diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient registration and gather medical history for EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor, explain preliminary tests, document results in EMR.
• Support remote eye exams, pre-testing and documentation in EMR.
• Transition patients to retail staff with doctor recommendations.
• Preauthorize insurance and manage appointment scheduling.
