Job summary

Visionworks of America is seeking a part-time Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to ensure a great patient experience. You will prepare patients for onsite or remote exams, perform pre-exam tests, and clearly explain each step of the process.

The role involves acting as a liaison between patients and Optometrists, assisting with eye examinations, and maintaining accurate records in EMR. Training is provided to support the duties.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience in optical or healthcare.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.
• Training provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for onsite and remote examinations.
• Complete pre-exam diagnostic tests and document results in EMR.
• Explain testing procedures to patients.
• Assist onsite doctor with eye examinations and triage ocular emergencies.
• Coordinate with retail staff to schedule follow-up appointments and manage exam books.
• Maintain patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
