Job summary

Visionworks of America seeks a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to ensure an excellent patient experience by preparing patients for onsite and remote examinations, performing pre-exam tests and guiding patients through each step.

You will liaise with patients and Optometrists, assist with eye exams, document results in EMR, manage remote visits, and help schedule follow-ups. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience
• Optical/Healthcare background preferred
• Medical office professionalism
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent
• Training provided

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for onsite or remote exams and complete pre-exam tests
• Explain testing steps and document results in EMR
• Assist doctors with eye exams and manage remote eye exam process
• Transition patients to retail staff with doctor recommendations
• Coordinate scheduling and manage exam books; contact no-shows
• Instruct patients on contact lens care and dispensing
• Maintain clean clinical environment and equipment
• Participate in training and obtain required certifications
