Job summary

Visionworks is seeking a part-time Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to support onsite and remote eye examinations. You will prepare patients, perform pre-exam tests, document results, and liaise between patients and Optometrists.

Responsibilities include assisting both onsite and remote exams, preauthorizing insurance, scheduling, and maintaining patient flow while ensuring a high level of patient care and accuracy in EMR documentation.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience.
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office/business professionalism required.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.
• Training provided

Responsibilities

• Complete patient registration, gathering and submitting Medical History and ocular health data into EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with patient care and eye examinations and document results in EMR.
• Explain preliminary testing and assist remote eye exams including testing and video conferencing.
• Transition the patient to a retail associate with doctor recommendations.
• Preauthorize insurance per SOP and manage exam bookings with no-show follow-ups.
• Maintain patient flow to support doctor effectiveness and answer clinical questions.
