Job summary

Visionworks of America is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to help ensure a great patient experience by preparing patients for onsite and remote examinations and completing pre-exam diagnostic tests, explaining each step of the process.

You will act as a liaison between patients and Optometrists, assist with remote eye exams, document results in EMR, coordinate scheduling, and help with insurance preauthorization and patient education.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience.
• Optical or healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office professionalism required.

Responsibilities

• Assist onsite doctor with patient care and eye examinations; document results in EMR.
• Explain preliminary testing to patients and administer tests.
• Support remote eye exams, including pre-testing and video conferencing.
• Coordinate patient flow, schedule appointments, and manage exam books.
• Maintain patient records and assist with insurance preauthorization.
