Job summary

AEG in Denver, CO is seeking an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care, assisting patients in selecting frames and lenses that fit prescription and lifestyle.

The role requires interpreting prescriptions, using tools like pupilometers and lensmeters, ensuring proper fit, and delivering high-quality service, with responsibilities including order follow-up, insurance knowledge, and maintaining accurate EHR entries.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MC Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor, experience with sales preferred.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient with recommended products and services.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and accessories based on prescription and lifestyle.
• Keep current on products, procedures, rebates, and lens/frame options.
• Enter prescription information into the EHR and related systems; ensure documentation is attached.
• Follow-up on orders and inform patients of delays or readiness.
• Dispense glasses, check fit, adjust as needed, and seek feedback.
• Explain insurance coverage, copays, and warranties to patients.
• Communicate with technicians and managers about order status and issues.
