Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will help patients choose frames and lenses tailored to prescriptions, lifestyle, and personal style, ensuring proper fit and accurate dispensing.

Responsibilities include processing prescriptions, communicating with technicians and doctors, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of products, warranties, and insurance coverage. Strong customer service and HIPAA awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills including MS Office, Windows, and word processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor, experience with sales preferred.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient and explains customized recommendations for products and services.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and accessories that fit prescription, lifestyle, and style.
• Ensure proper frame fit, measurements, and lens dispensing with quality patient service.
• Maintain understanding of insurance plans, eligibility, copays, and coverage limitations.
• Enter prescription information into EHR/ALE systems and manage documentation.
