Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care at our San Jose location. You will help patients select frames, lenses, and treatments, ensuring proper fit and accurate dispensing.

You will rely on your experience with vision products, HIPAA awareness, and strong communication to deliver an outstanding experience while coordinating with technicians and clinicians. This is a full-time, on-site role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

High School or GED qualification.
ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
Minimum of one-year experience as an Optician preferred.
Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
PC skills to include MC Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor, sales experience preferred.
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient and explains customized product recommendations.
Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and accessories based on needs and measurements.
Maintain knowledge of products, rebates, and lens/frame options.
Handle patient calls, provide order updates, and escalate issues to management.
Educate patients on eyewear care, insurance coverage, and warranty options.
Inspect final products for accuracy and adjust for proper fit and comfort.
Coordinate with technicians and doctors to ensure smooth handoffs.
