Job summary

AEG seeks an Optician to deliver expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will assist patients in selecting frames and lenses, ensure proper fit and measurements, and combine technical dispensing with outstanding service.

Responsibilities include processing prescriptions, updating patient records in the EHR, and communicating order status. Training is available; on-site work with full benefits awaits the right candidate.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MC Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor, experience with sales preferred.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient and explains customized recommendations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and accessories fitting prescription and lifestyle.
• Maintain understanding of products, rebates, lenses and frames available.
• Enter prescription information into the EHR; ensure documentation is scanned and attached.
• Follow-up on orders and update patients on status; resolve issues with management escalation.
• Dispense glasses with proper fit, adjust for comfort, and seek feedback.
• Proficient use of pupilometers, PD sticks, lensometers and other tools.
• Communicate with technicians and managers about order status.
• Ensure final product is inspection-free, clean, and ready for patient pickup.
