Job summary

At AEG, we are seeking an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will assist patients in selecting eyewear and accessories fitting prescription, lifestyle, and personal style with accuracy in measurements and lens dispensing.

You will also handle insurances, enter data into EHR/ALE, and educate patients on care, discounts, and replacement options while maintaining high levels of service and accuracy.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MC Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor, experience with sales preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient and explains customized recommendations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and treatments based on lifestyle and prescription.
• Take and interpret prescriptions, ensure proper measurements and fit.
• Enter prescription information into the EHR/ALE system and maintain documentation.
• Follow up on orders and update patients on status; resolve issues as needed.
• Dispense glasses, adjust for proper fit and comfort, and perform repairs.
• Educate patients on eyewear care, warranty, and insurance details.
