Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that match prescriptions, lifestyle, and style while ensuring proper fit and accurate dispensing.

The role requires interpreting prescriptions, updating the EHR/ALE system, and maintaining high standards of customer service, HIPAA compliance, and product knowledge. A strong emphasis on teamwork and quality is essential.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MC Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor, sales experience preferred.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient, explaining customized recommendations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and lens treatments.
• Keep up-to-date on products, rebates, and available lens/frame options.
• Manage patient calls, updates, and order status; escalate issues as needed.
• Enter prescriptions into electronic health record (EHR) and ALE system with accuracy.
• Ensure proper eyewear fit, adjust as needed, and gather patient feedback.
• Explain insurance coverage, benefits, copays, and coverage limitations.
