Job summary

AEG is hiring an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will help patients select frames, ensure proper fit, dispense lenses, and educate on insurance and care requirements. Strong communication and customer service are essential in this role.

You will work with technicians and doctors to manage orders, maintain accurate records in the EHR, and uphold high standards of quality and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Experience as an optician strongly preferred; HIPAA knowledge is a plus.
• Proficiency with MC Office, Windows, and general word processing.
• Excellent customer service and sales skills; strong communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in selecting eyewear and accessories.
• Ensure proper frame fit, take measurements, and dispense lenses accurately.
• Explain insurance benefits, warranties, and available upgrades to patients.
• Enter prescription data into EHR/ALE systems and maintain documentation.
• Coordinate with technicians and managers; provide order status updates.
• Inspect and adjust eyewear for fit and comfort; perform minor repairs.
