Job summary

AEG seeks an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and patient care on-site in Bridgeport, CT. You will assist patients in selecting frames and lenses, verify measurements, and ensure proper fit while delivering outstanding service.

Responsibilities include interpreting prescriptions, updating the EHR, coordinating with technicians and doctors, and educating patients on insurance, warranties, and care options. Full-time with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience as an Optician preferred.
• HIPAA experience preferred.
• PC skills include MS Office, Windows, and word processing.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and sales experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting eyewear and accessories that fit prescription, lifestyle, and style.
• Take and verify measurements and dispense lenses with accurate fitting.
• Enter prescription data into EHR and ensure documentation is attached to charts.
• Explain insurance, warranties, and care options to patients.
• Coordinate with technicians and doctors to manage orders and status updates.
• Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and frame care.
