Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optician to join our team in Illinois. You will provide expert eyewear solutions, ensure proper frame fit, take precise measurements, and dispense lenses while delivering outstanding patient care.

Responsibilities include guiding patients through frame and lens options, staying current on products and insurance coverage, and maintaining accurate records in the EHR. The ideal candidate has at least one year of optician experience, strong communication, and a customer-centric

Qualifications

High School or GED qualification.
ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
PC skills to include MS Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor; sales experience preferred.
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient and explains customized product/service recommendations.
Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and treatments based on prescription, lifestyle, and style.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, rebates, lenses, and frames.
Handle patient calls, update orders, and escalate issues to management as needed.
Enter prescriptions into EHR/ALE systems and ensure proper documentation.
Inspect and adjust eyewear for proper fit and comfort; perform repairs as needed.
