Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will assist patients in selecting frames and lenses, ensure proper fit and dispensation, and educate customers on care, warranties, and insurance coverage.

You will interpret prescriptions written by Optometrists and Ophthalmologists, enter data into the EHR/ALE systems, and maintain strong communication with technicians and managers to maintain timely order fulfillment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one year experience as an Optician preferred.
• HIPAA knowledge preferred.
• Proficient PC skills: MS Office, Windows, word processing.

Responsibilities

• Delivers an exceptional patient experience by explaining product recommendations and services.
• Assists patients in selecting frames, lenses, and treatments based on prescription and lifestyle.
• Interprets prescriptions and enters data into the EHR and ALE systems.
• Maintains clean and organized work areas and communicates with technicians and managers about order status.
• Inspects and dispenses glasses, ensures proper fit, and performs adjustments as needed.
• Educates patients on eyewear care, warranties, and coverage options.
• Keeps up-to-date on insurance plans, benefits, copays, and authorizations.
