Job summary

AEG Vision is hiring an Optician to provide eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will assist patients in selecting frames, ensure accurate measurements and lens dispensing, and combine technical skill with outstanding service.

You will handle prescriptions, insurance concepts, and order status updates while maintaining high standards of patient satisfaction and product quality. This full-time, on-site role offers comprehensive benefits and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• ABO/NCLE certification preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one year of Optician experience preferred.
• HIPAA compliance experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office, Windows, and word processing.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; detail-oriented.
• Excellent customer service and sales-oriented demeanor.
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Help patients select eyewear and accessories based on prescription, lifestyle, and style.
• Ensure proper frame fit, measurements, and lens dispensing.
• Explain products/services to patients to build trust and loyalty.
• Handle patient calls and update order status; resolve issues with management escalation when needed.
• Assist with frame/lens choices including coatings and specialty products.
• Educate patients on eyeglass and contact lens care and warranty options.
• Understand insurance coverage, benefits, copays, and deductibles.
• Interpret prescriptions and enter data into EHR and ALE systems.
• Communicate with technicians/managers about orders; ensure timely completion.
• Inspect final product for fit, quality, and polish.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and displays.
