Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will assist patients in selecting eyewear, ensure proper frame fit and accurate lens dispensing, and maintain high patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities include interpreting prescriptions, updating EHR records, educating patients on care and warranty options, and ensuring timely order delivery while delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MS Office, Windows, and word processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor, experience with sales preferred.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient with complete explanations of recommendations.
• Receives patient handoff from technicians or doctors and identifies visual needs.
• Keeps current on products, procedures, rebates, and lens/frame options.
• Takes and returns patient calls; updates on order status and resolves issues.
• Assists patients in selecting frames, lens types, and coatings.
• Educates patients on eyeglass and contact lens care and warranty options.
• Interprets prescriptions and documents in EHR/ALE systems.
• Follows up on pending orders and notifies patients when eyewear is ready.
• Inspects final products for quality and adjusts as needed.
• Maintains clean, organized work and display areas.
