Job summary

Affinity Eye Care in Lenexa, KS is seeking an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will assist patients in selecting eyewear and accessories, ensure proper frame fit and accurate dispensing, and maintain high patient satisfaction through quality service.

You will interpret prescriptions, manage orders in the EHR/ALE, and stay current on products, rebates, and lens options while collaborating with technicians and doctors to meet patient needs.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MC Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor, experience with sales preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient with customized product/service recommendations.
• Receive patient handoff from technicians or doctors and identify visual needs.
• Keep current on products, procedures, rebates, lenses and frames.
• Enter prescription information into the EHR and ALE system and manage documentation.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and treatments; educate on care, warranties and coverage.
