Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will assist patients in choosing frames, lenses, and treatments, ensuring proper fit and accurate dispensing.

Engage with patients, interpret prescriptions, and manage order status while maintaining high service standards and insurance knowledge. This is a full-time, on-site role with benefits in Pittsburgh area.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MC Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor; sales experience is a plus.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary patient experience; explains customized recommendations.
• Assists patients in selecting frames, lenses, and treatments based on lifestyle and prescription.
• Keeps current on products, rebates, and lens/frame options.
• Handles patient communications and order status updates; escalates issues as needed.
• Interprets prescriptions and enters data into EHR/ALE systems.
• Ensures proper fit, adjusts eyewear, and completes repairs as required.
• Explains insurance, warranties, and care options to patients.
• Maintains clean, organized work and retail areas.
