Job summary

AEG seeks an experienced Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care, assisting patients in frame and lens selection, ensuring proper fit and precise measurements. You will interpret prescriptions and document in the EHR while delivering a seamless patient experience.

Responsibilities include communicating insurance details, maintaining knowledge of lens options, and coordinating with technicians to fulfill orders on time in a busy on-site practice.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MC Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor, experience with sales preferred.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Provide eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care to each patient.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and accessories based on prescription, lifestyle, and style.
• Interpret prescriptions and enter all prescription information into the EHR/ALE system.
• Explain insurance coverage, benefits, copays, and warranties to patients.
• Coordinate with technicians and managers to track order status and resolve issues.
• Ensure proper frame fit, lens type, and lens treatments with patient feedback.
