Job summary

EyeCare Partners in Garner, NC is seeking an Optical Technician to support patient care and retail sales. You will dispense and fit glasses and contacts based on prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists, contributing to the Total Patient Experience.

You will help patients choose frames, explain lenses and coatings, take measurements, operate lensometry equipment, dispense orders, and assist with repairs while delivering friendly, accurate service.

Qualifications

• Medical office experience preferred; ophthalmic experience strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year in a customer/patient-facing role or equivalent.
• Background check required by state.
• Proof of identity and right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Total Patient Experience and build patient relationships while providing medical support.
• Determine patient needs and sell to exceed expectations.
• Assist patients in frame selection using facial/eye measurements and prescriptions.
• Operate auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings, and frames.
• Collect measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and pantoscopic tilt.
• Dispense orders and repair/adjust frames.
• Dispense glasses and/or contact lens orders using current process.
