Job summary

EyeCare Partners seeks an Optical Technician to enhance the Total Patient Experience. This role dispenses and fits glasses and contacts, aligning patient needs with available goods and services.

The incumbent will use prescriptions from ophthalmologists and optometrists, assist in frame selection, and ensure accurate measurements. Prior ophthalmic or medical office experience is preferred, with ABO/NCLE certifications optional.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in a role interacting with patients or customers
• Medical office experience preferred in ophthalmology
• ABO/NCLE certifications preferred but not required
• Able to pass state background check and provide proof of identity

Responsibilities

• Embrace and execute the Total Patient Experience to build relationships with patients
• Determine patient wants and needs and sell to exceed expectations
• Assist patients in selecting frames by style, color, measurements, and prescriptions
• Operate auto-lensometer and manual lensometer
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings, and frames
• Collect measurements: bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance, pupillary distance
• Dispense orders and repair/adjust frames
• Dispense glasses and contact lens orders using current process
