Job summary

EyeCare Partners in Winston-Salem is seeking an Optical Technician to deliver a world class Total Patient Experience while supporting medical needs. You will dispense and fit glasses and contacts from optometrists' prescriptions and connect patient needs to available goods and services.

The role emphasizes patient interaction, frame selection, and accurate measurements. Proficiency with lensometry and eye measurements is preferred; ophthalmic or medical office experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Previous medical office experience preferred.
• Ophthalmic experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of customer/patient interaction experience.

Responsibilities

• Embrace and execute our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great medical support.
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and color, coordinating frames with measurements and prescriptions.
• Operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings and frames to suit patient needs.
• Collect measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance and pupillary distance.
• Dispense orders and repair or adjust patient frames as needed.
• Dispense glasses and contact lens orders using current process.
