Job summary

Nationwide Vision in Tucson, AZ is seeking an Optical Technician to dispense and fit glasses and contacts, working from prescriptions written by Optometrists. You will help patients choose frames, take exact measurements, and ensure accurate lens fitting as part of a world-class Total Patient Experience.

You will operate lensometry equipment, educate patients on lens options, coatings, and frames, and maintain inventory and office duties.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret insurance forms.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Familiarity with HIPAA privacy policies.
• Minimum 1 year in customer/patient interactions.

Responsibilities

• Provide Total Patient Experience while assisting with medical needs.
• Assist patients in selecting frames based on style and measurements.
• Operate auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate on lenses and coatings to fit patient needs.
• Accurately measure bridge, eye size, temple length, and pupillary distance.
• Dispense glasses and contacts; process orders in E360.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked retail area and inventory.
• Support general office duties as needed.
